RULES AND CONDITIONS OF 3D3 AWARD,
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR GRADUATION PROJECTS USING 3DVIA VIRTOOLS

Article 1 : general presentation
ART3000-Le Cube and Dassault Systemes organize an international competition for graduation projects using 3DVIA Virtools. In order to highlight training programs to this real-time 3D software, as well as students’ works, 3D3 rewards the best graduation projects for their creative and technical mastery.

Article 2 : entrants
The competition welcomes 3DVIA Virtools projects produced as part of any public or private, french or international training program that delivers a full diploma. Depending on the training context, students may compete as individuals or as a group. Submitted projects must be realized during the 2009/2010 academic year.

Article3 : entries
Projects may be submitted by students themselves, or by their teachers and administrators of their training institution.
There is no entry fee.
It is advisable to make a pre-enrollment on 3D3 competition website (http://www.concours-3d3.com).
The following items must be included with the project :
- the completed entry form, received by e-mail after a pre-enrolment on the website http://www.concours -3d3.com), or on request to Le Cube
- vmo project (on CD-Rom or URL)
- a written description of the project and a detailed description of keyboard shortcuts and instructions for interacting with the project, with a list of sample actions for demonstrating the project.
- a short biography (or CV) of each participant
- 5 non-copyrighted screenshot/illustrations (image resolution: 300 dpi / file format : .tif or .jpg / image size : 600 pixels on the large side)
- a 3-minute video presentation of the project non-copyrighted (image and sound) : file format : .avi or .mov / video compression : sorenson

The projects must be submitted in the form of executable programs, on CD-Rom or through a URL. They will be run on a dualcore 2,67 GHz PC with 3 Go RAM, N-vidia GeForce 9600 GT graphics card, Operating System Windows XP.
Only the first application sent, readable on first opening, will be considered. Entries must be received (postmarked) by July 19th 2010. Entrants can modify their project anytime and as many time as they wish until September 20th, 2010.

The competition includes several awards for the following areas :
- Grand Prize
- Special Le Cube Prize (Artistic Expression Prize)
- Special 3DVIA Virtools Prize (Technical Design Prize)
- Special Prize Arte-tv.com (for cultural content)
- Graphics Prize
- Sound Design Prize
- Narrative Design Prize
- Playability Prize
- Prize for Innovation


Article 5 : selection and panel
Prizes are awarded for various aspects of expertise in creating interactive 3D worlds. 3D3 places particular importance on work that demonstrates high-level skills and both creative and technical mastery.
A panel consisting of authorities in new technology and cultural sectors will be responsible for assessing the technical and artistic merits of the projects submitted.

Article 6 : press, promotion and communication
ART 3000-Le Cube and Dassault Systemes retain the right to present the completed project, and the documents relating to it (video presentation, photos, texts, etc.) for the purposes of promoting the competition in presentations and conferences held on its own premises or elsewhere and on the website http://www.concours-3d3.com.
This does not extend to anything that might be likened to a public presentation of the project itself (exhibitions, public performance, projection, etc.) or a commercial use.

Article 7 : award ceremony
The awards ceremony will take place on October the 30th 2010 at Le Cube in Issy-les-moulineaux, 20 Cours Saint Vincent, France. The prize-winners list will be available on 3D3 website : http://www.concours-3d3.com.

Article 8 : rights
Each entrant may attest:
- he/she has the whole integrity of the inheritance right of his/her project
- That his/her project respects rights of a third party, and cannot be prosecuted for counterfeiting, offense against image right, private life respect right, or for any other reason.

Article 9 : agreement of rules and conditions
Taking part in the competion implies a whole agreement of rules and conditions.
